REESE sliders works by moving or sliding - your fifth wheel hitch toward the rear of your truck, so the pin position is moved temporarily behind the rear axle, to provide more room for tighter maneuvering at low speeds. Without a slider, the front or nose of your trailer could hit and potentially damage your truck cab when youre trying to turn. Therefore, a slider is recommended for any short-bed pickup, so you can enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
